The Nigerian society for the past four decades has witness on passed through very difficult and challenging times. The circumstance under which these difficult/trying times manifest is not without the reality of bestiality inherent in man. The nature of man requires that he put that beastly tendency in check by organizing institutions that will checkmate those beastly attitudes, or the inhumanity of man to man.

Pragmatic International is a civil society organization that is dedicated to the empowerment, reorientation and spiritual commitment of individuals, especially the youths. We are advocates of decency, human rights/dignity and progress of the Nigerian society via the enactment of purposeful pro-people oriented programs aimed at defending the weak and promoting human and societal excellence.  It was founded by Prince Adeleke Babatunde in 2002,to challenge noble minds to the veracity of a new era. Our drive is deeply seated in the fact that we love to develop people’s talent in service to themselves and others. This is done by helping them to live a pragmatically fulfilled life and a passion for societal excellence. We have been mobilizing and orientating people especially youths, waking them up to the realism of a new dawn. While assisting the government to deliver its responsibilities to the people.

We have package purposeful pro-people oriented programs aimed at reorientation and empowerment of individuals, especially youths, to be self reliant, objective and hard working. We provide employment, offer counseling services, and make research on societal problems with a view to finding lasting solutions to such problems. Our mission statement  “ perfecting the individual units of the society to a more positive universally accepted attitude” was born out of this fact. We are practically into all that has to do with people and the society. Our modus operandi is based on a pragmatic scale of preference, which enables us to tackle important problems first.

PI is not a tribal, ethnic, or religious organization, neither is it meant for people of a particular discipline. It is an organization meant for the deprived and the challenged in the contemporary modern Nigeria, where everything has falling apart. Moral and religious values have been substituted for material gains and the love of money.  That is why in our meetings we only discuss things that unite us rather than argue on things that divide us. We believe all tribes are equal; the Yoruba man’s problem is the same as the Hausa or the Igbo, or Itsekiri ot Tivs. The problem of Nigeria is selfishness and poverty. We all have equal stakes at this chance at life called existence, and we have all through providence been boxed into this geographical entity called Nigeria. Together we must find a way out of the present quagmire that we have found ourselves.

It is our desire to find a way around making things work, by holding people responsible for their actions. Most particularly public office holders. The era of people scrambling for public office and making a total mess of it is gradually coming to an end. We have discovered that the culture of impunity and winner takes it all of our leaders or prospective public office holders are building up the sense of violence and corruption in the new generation.  We sincerely hope to reduce all this. Then complacency, laxity, bureaucracy, and outright corruption that are evident in our civil service must be gradually eradicated.

We have so much crime because the youths are watching the elders play politics of rascality, people deep their hands into public funds and become instant celebrities. All these nonsense will soon stop. Who will want to work hard when you can shoot or maim your way into the corridors of power? Lots of youths are trooping into dirty politics, advance free fraud, armed robbery, assassinations, drug peddling, human trafficking and cults because they believe that nobody can catch them and of course there is big money in crime!

We strongly believe in a Nigeria where things will work for both foreigners and indigenes. We cannot say this is impossible unless we try. The problem with the average Nigerian is that we love to complain and condemn people and government without doing something to solve what we are complaining about. We have practically become a nation of frustrated complainants.

Our endeavor in the past three years has earned us the recognition of reputable organizations, both in the government circle and the organized private sector. We believe in assisting individuals, government and private establishments to achieve their goals. We are strong advocates of justice, by way of defending human rights.  Our efforts are geared towards the attainment of equal rights and justice for all in a predominantly selfish society where impunity and crass stupidity has become the order of the day.

For now our major focus is to empower our members by making sure they get jobs and live a totally God fearing life, while defending the rights of the weak, the neglected, destitute, pensioners and others who have been relegated to the abyss of perpetual poverty by an economy that has remained comatose. Further more assisting government agencies to deliver their objectives is our main concern, this has earned us recognition by:

Efforts are being made to affiliate with other international associations that can enable us participate as volunteers in projects of international magnitude. You too can be an active part of this struggle to redeem Nigeria from her past, exorcise her from the demons that have continued to rape her mercilessly for four decades now. Nigeria is the land of opportunities. We are blessed abundantly with natural and human resources. Why can’t we make things work?

We believe that together we can build a better safer and progressive Nigeria where things will work for the good of all. To discourage indiscipline, lethargy, corruption, impunity, complacency and other base societal cleavages that have put this country on the road to destruction. You too can be an active part of this reality. We look forward to seeing you.  God bless Nigeria.
